Evolution represents a process that is never fully complete. For a woodworker, inspirations evolve as life experiences shape our creativity. Skills evolve as we share tips and techniques with friends and mentors. And our workshops evolve as we refine our skills. At Powermatic, we're proud to introduce the latest example of our own evolution, the PM1000 cabinet table saw. As with every product Powermatic builds, the PM1000 redefines the limits of design, innovation and durability.
  • The First feature that will catch your attention is undoubtedly the ergonomic angled control panel made from anodized aluminum. The blue hue of the DRO along with the beautiful knurled control knob fitted with a rubber grip signals this is no ordinary lathe. The bed is made from steel which allows the cast iron headstock to travel incredibly smoothly. Steel is the preferred material due to its well known longevity & strength.Electronic variable speed is obtained via a VFD that converts 1 phase input to 3 phase output, so even at low settings you will get an incredible amount of torque. The DRO gives you an accurate RPM readout at all times any fine adjustments are made electronically. Changing from high to low settings is made easy by using the quick release handle. The headstock & tailstock lock handles are situated on the back to eliminate any interruptions to your work flow. Ergonomically designed handles use a cam lock resulting in a firm feel with no deflection.

  • The Laguna JX|8 ShearTec II is loaded with great features to make jointing safer and more enjoyable. It includes parallelogram table adjustments that travel along an arc to keep the same distance to the cutterhead. An emergency knee stop that uses a body-length bar at knee height to shut off the jointer allows the machine operator to stop the machine quickly at any position along the front of the machine, while keeping hands on the workpiece. The new JX Series machine body has been redesigned with a toe kick to allow the user to be positioned closer to the machine tables and move safer and easier along the length of the machine. Infeed tables are fitted with a pullout support roller to help support longer materials. The ShearTec II is a 6-row carbide insert cutterhead that produces a shear cut for superior surface finish on all woods, including challenging hardwoods. The ShearTec II knives and fasteners have a T-step design to maximize clamping force on the knives, preventing knife cracking and chatter. The ShearTec II cutterhead has deep grooves that make the cutterhead very quiet and improve shaving ejection.
