The variable-frequency drive runs the 3-phase motor to provide variable-speed control and maximum torque at low speeds. The variable-speed control allows for spindle speed adjustment from 100–3200 RPM and the digital readout provides a precise reading of the current spindle speed. The headstock swivels for outboard turning and can be positioned anywhere along the bed for increased flexibility in workpiece setup. The swivel pin can lock the headstock at 0°, 45°, 90°, 135°, 180°, and 270°. The bed is precision-ground steel for strength and durability and the steel legs can be easily adapted for adding more mass.
