The term “soft maple” does not refer to any specific species of maple, but rather, it’s a broad term which includes several different species of maple. The term “soft maple” is merely used to differentiate these species from hard maple. Resembles Hard Maple being closed-grained but much softer. Easily worked. Accepts finish and paint well.
Stock is cut to size from quality, kiln-dried stock. Dimensions are +- 1/8″ grain runs with the longest dimension.
